HI, I’M KASEY

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree from Wilfrid Laurier University with a minor in Biology and Psychology and a concentration in Health and Rehabilitation, as well as a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Today, I am the proud owner of Kasey Sharp Psychotherapy.

I work with young to middle-aged adults who are seeking to better understand themselves and the patterns that shape their relationships, whether those patterns show up in connection with others or in the way they relate to their own inner world. I also offer support to those living with the ongoing emotional challenges of chronic illness. My path into this work was shaped by personal experience: therapy played a vital role in helping me navigate my own journey with chronic illness, and I know how transformative it can be to feel truly seen, perhaps for the first time.

My therapeutic approach is rooted in relational therapy, and primarily draws from internal family systems, acceptance and commitment therapy, somatic therapy, and attachment theory, all grounded in a client-centered, trauma-informed perspective.

At the core of my practice is the belief that we’re all human, doing our best with the challenges we face, and often carrying more than we show. I come to this work as my authentic self, shaped not just by professional training, but by my own lived experiences. I know what it’s like to move through pain and uncertainty, and I bring that perspective into the room with honesty and care. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe to show up as they are—raw, real, and unfiltered. It is a profound privilege to witness someone in their truth and to offer them the experience of being deeply seen and heard.

MY THERAPEUTIC PHILOSPHY

My approach to therapy is grounded in collaboration and mutual respect. I view the therapeutic relationship as a shared journey, where I offer guidance and clinical insight while honouring each client’s inner wisdom and capacity for growth. Rather than directing the process, I allow the client’s needs and experiences to shape our work together. I often work with individuals who understand that meaningful change takes time and who see therapy as an ongoing process of self-discovery, rather than a quick solution. Much of what emerges in therapy is relational—how we relate to ourselves, to others, and to the world around us. I invite clients to come to each session with a sense of intention, as this time is a valuable investment in their own well-being.

I see each person not as someone to be fixed, but as someone to be deeply understood and supported. My aim is to hold space with care, curiosity, and presence—helping clients make sense of their experiences and gently bring unconscious patterns into awareness. While the challenges that bring someone to therapy can be painful, I believe they hold meaning, and that healing is possible. This work isn’t easy, but it doesn’t have to be done alone. I will be here with you as we navigate it together.
